Burnage RFC has canoe steps down to the River Mersey Canoe Trail which runs from Stockport to Carrington. The excellent staff of www.messingaboutonthemersey.co.uk are based out of Burnage RFC, providing a range of canoes and all safety equipment as well as tuition.
Trips down this pleasant section of the Mersey are available from Burnage, where you can park, shower and change and enjoy food and drink afterwards.
